Christological perspective:<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8644d23 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8644d23\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>First\u00a0Clement illuminates \u201corder\u201d, \u201charmony\/concord\u201d, and \u201cpeace\u201d as central themes in the life of the church. These are the important characteristics that must exist and be rooted in the life of the church.\u00a0<b>At the same time, 1 Clement connects all of these characteristics with the Christ Himself in different ways<\/b>, as follows:<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">a.\u00a0Christ as the pattern: Spiritual pride, jealousy, envy, and anger represent the root of factionalism (1Clem. 3, 4, 13, 14). So, the real need is humility.\u00a0<b>Christ is our example of humility<\/b>\u00a0(1Clem 16). Although He is the \u201cmajestic scepter of God\u201d, He didn\u2019t come in pride, but in humility (16:2), and we have to imitate Him.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">b.\u00a0Christ as the way<b>:<\/b>\u00a01 Clement presents the\u00a0<b>faith in Christ<\/b>\u00a0as the way to achieve this victorious life which avoids factionalism by being filled of harmony and peace. \u201cNow faith in Christ confirms all these things\u201d (22:1). \u201cThis is the way, dear friends, in which we found our salvation, namely\u00a0<b>Jesus Christ<\/b>\u2026\u201d (36: 1).<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">c.\u00a0L<b>ove in Christ\u00a0<\/b>and fulfillment of the commandments correspond to one another. \u201cLet the one who has love in Christ fulfill the commandments of Christ\u201d (49: 1).<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">d.\u00a0The church leadership\u2019s authority, and order, exist because of the\u00a0<b>authority of Christ<\/b>\u00a0Himself. \u201c\u2026 Christ is from God, and the apostles are from Christ\u201d (42: 1). The leaders \u201creceived their orders and being fully assured by the\u00a0<b>resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ<\/b>\u2026\u201d (42: 3).\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-da3ace6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"da3ace6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. Pneumatological perspective:<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ea965b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ea965b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>1 Clement connects the abundant\u00a0<b>outpouring of the Holy Spirit<\/b>\u00a0with humility, submission, and giving (2:2). It illuminates that when the church of Corinthians was in union, the Spirit poured upon everyone. \u201cMoreover, you were all humble\u2026 submitting\u2026 more glad to give than to receive\u2026 Thus a profound and rich peace was going to all\u2026 and an\u00a0<b>abundant outpouring of the Holy Spirit<\/b>\u00a0fell upon everyone as well\u201d (2:1, 2).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34d189d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"34d189d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">3. Eschatological perspective:<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-111b0d5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"111b0d5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>1 Clement uses the eschatological hope to encourage the Christians to keep harmony, order, and peace in their churches. Paul \u201cshowed the way to the prize for patient endurance\u201d (5:5), and \u201cwe are in the same arena, and the same contest awaits us\u201d (7:1). \u201cTherefore\u2026 let us conform to the glorious and holy rule of our tradition\u201d (7:2). \u201cBehold, the Lord comes, and His reward is with Him\u201d (34: 3).
